Okay Resume is developed by Krishna Kanta Panging at Dizimint Innovatives. Resume editing runs on your device; the app does not upload your resume content to us.
What the app stores
- The resumes you create, including your name, contact details, work history and any profile photo you add.
- Your settings, such as the light or dark appearance.
Resumes are saved as files in the application's documents folder on installed versions, or in browser local storage on the web. Appearance preferences are saved separately. If storage is unavailable, your work may last only for the current session.
Accounts and analytics
The app does not include accounts. Optional Google Analytics measures app usage, such as creating resumes, selecting templates, opening editor tabs and moving through review, format selection and export. Usage analytics is off by default. You can turn it on or off under Settings > Usage analytics.
When enabled and Firebase is connected, Google receives usage events, app installation identifiers and the device, app, engagement and connection information collected by its Analytics SDK. Our custom events include template identifiers, creation mode, export format, page count and progress or exit steps. They never include resume text, resume identifiers or titles, filenames, contact details, photos or error messages. Analytics advertising storage and ad personalisation are disabled separately from AdMob's own consent controls. Android Analytics advertising ID collection is also disabled.
Turning Usage analytics off stops future Analytics collection; it does not erase information already sent. Google describes its processing at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Any support information you choose to send outside the app is handled separately from the resumes stored on your device.
Advertising in the Android and iOS apps
The installed apps show a small banner ad on the Resumes and Templates screens. Ads are provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, approximate location and information about how ads are viewed and tapped. Your resumes and photos are never shared with Google or any other ad provider.
Where the law requires it, such as in the EEA and UK, the app asks for your consent before ads use your data for personalisation. You can change your choice at any time under Settings > Privacy choices. On Android you can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings. Google describes how it uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
The apps also download ad settings, such as which screens show ads, from Google Firebase Remote Config. That request includes an app installation identifier and normal connection information, but no resume content.
Ads need an internet connection. Without one, no ads appear and every feature keeps working. The web version shows no ads.
Notifications in the Android app
Notifications are off unless you turn them on, either when the app offers them after your first export or under Settings > Notifications. When they are on, the app registers with Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, which gives your installation a token used only to deliver notifications such as news about new templates. No resume content is sent. Turning notifications off in Settings deletes that token; you can also block them in your phone's settings.
Photos and camera
The app opens your photo library or camera only when you choose to add a profile photo and the platform supports that option. You can crop, stretch, zoom and reposition it on your device. The adjusted photo, an original copy for later adjustments, and your adjustment settings are saved inside your resume. Removing the photo in Personal details removes both stored copies from that resume. The app does not use the photo for facial recognition.
Sharing and exporting
When you export a resume as PDF, Word or an image, the app hands the file to your device's share or save dialog. Copy as JSON places a resume on your clipboard. Where these copies go is your choice; recipients, clipboard tools, cloud drives and other apps handle them under their own policies. Deleting a resume here does not delete copies you have already exported or shared.
Website pages inside the app
Settings opens the privacy policy, terms, GDPR information, disclaimer, cookies information, About, Support and Delete your data pages from okayresume.com. These pages need an internet connection. The website host receives ordinary connection information, such as your IP address, browser or WebView information and request time, and may keep access logs. Opening these pages does not send your resume content, photos or saved contact details to the website.
Web version
The website's host receives ordinary web requests when the app loads and may keep logs such as IP address, browser information and request time. PDF previews and image exports can also download the PDF.js library from unpkg.com. Those requests reveal normal connection information to that provider; resume content is processed locally and is not included in those requests. The host and library provider control their own logging and retention practices.
Browser local storage saves your resumes and settings. An offline cache saves application files so the site can reopen without a connection after loading online. See Cookies & local storage for details.
Keeping or deleting your data
Saved resumes have no automatic expiry. To delete one, open its More menu on the Resumes page, choose Delete and confirm. To remove web resumes and settings together, clear this site's data in your browser. Clearing only cached files may leave resumes intact.
On installed versions, uninstalling may remove app data, but documents, exported files or system backups can remain depending on the platform. Review your documents folder, exports and device backup settings separately. We cannot recover a deleted resume because the app does not keep a server copy.
Security and device backups
The app does not add password protection or encryption to its stored resume files. Protect your device and browser profile, especially on a shared computer. Your operating system or backup service may copy app data according to your device settings. Avoid adding sensitive information that a job application does not need.
Children
Okay Resume is meant for people preparing job applications and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will appear here with an updated date.
